Responding to another post, I thought to myself about a few things I would change in the 16bh. Does anyone have a change, he or she would like to see?

I'll start it off — I wish the bottom of the tub were a little lower so I would not have to crouch down to take a shower.

Anyone else?

Can you get a front window? That could be cool.

Check with your dealer on the front window.  My dealer installed them on almost every trailer he had.  It is not an operable window, just lets light in but we love it.  Comes with interior trim to match the other windows and the exterior cover that protects it while traveling.  I think it was a $200-$250 cost.

We have the front window and we could live without it.  I'd actually prefer it if it would open.

I'd like for the kitchen window to open more than 1″.

I'd like a fan in the bathroom.

I'd like higher clearance since our jack drags sometimes, (therefore more height for the holding tank out hole).

Higher density foam for the dinette and bunks.

Basement door for the space under the dinette bench (although maybe this isn't possible with the placement of the awning) or at least some kind of easier access..

Electric water heater (the sticker on the closet door says it's propane and electric, but we have no idea how it works so we just assume it's just propane).

Holding/fresh tank gauges.

More height in the shower (not for me since I'm ok at 5'3″ but DH is 5'9″ and he gets soap all over the ceiling).

Standard shower/tub surround.

Wow, you'd think I was totally not satisfied with it, but really I love it! Laugh

Easy access to upper bunk also.  Ditto on the electric option on the water heater.  Three way refrigerator.  I have to store my trailer behind my office and it would be nice to run the refrigerator while traveling.  Higher clearance also would be nice and more shower height too.  And last but not least – a fan in the bathroom.

All in all, we are very happy with our decision.

WATER HEATER

Check out the 2.5, 4.0 and 6.0 gallon electric water heater by Eemax.  I'm planning on the 2.5 gallon EMT2.5 "Mini-Tank" to fit just below our sink, 12 amps / 1400 watts, made in Costa Rica, $169.00 + freight from http://www.PlumbersSurplus.com .  Several other mfg. make 120 volt electric water heaters, too.  These are not the "heat the water, as needed" on-demand type.

Remembered another item — I'd like some "real"  jacks to stabilize the trailer instead of the standard ones. Does anyone know how much some heavy duty jacks would cost to buy & install?

PM Sportsman Matt and check out one his first posts…..modifying his Sport. Classic 19xx, adding scissor jacks (if I remember correctly).  Teaspoon (Kim) might add to the discussion, also.

Ref: KZ Owners Manual (pp. 57-60)

WATER HEATER

"Several energy sources are available to heat water: (1) propane gas only with manual lighting and start-up, (2) propane gas and 12 volt DC combination.  A 120 volt AC option is available and may be included with either source in a combination form."

Lynne, check with your dealer to determine which energy sources your TT came with.  Dealer should be able to instruct you; or, contact Matt Deal, KZ-RV Cust. Service for assistance 1-866-472-5460, ext. 247 or email Matt at mdeal@kz-rv.com .  Be sure to include model and vin, when communicating with Matt.  Matt has been very helpful and timely for my needs.

We had an opening front window on our Jayco TT, but we never bothered to open it, just pulled the curtains back. The trouble we had with it, was when we were towing and it rained, the window would leak water into the camper. Parked it wouldn't leak at all, or at least if it ever did we were unaware of the leak. It became a source of annoyance and I vowed I would never own another camper with a window in the front that opened. Just our experience.

We are actually making a change prior to pickup.  I didn't want the top bunk so we are having it removed, leaving the base of the top bunk flush to the bathroom wall, leaving a shelf about 20-24″ deep.  Everyone at the dealership we've talked to about this has said "why didn't we think of that?"  The top bunk is too low for me to easily sit on the edge of the bunk and by removing it, we have the bottom bunk that can be used as a daybed/sofa during the day and of course, can still use it as a bed at night.  The shelf will be a good size for storing pillows/bedding during the day when we are using the dinette.

Anyone know if the roof can be modified to be smoother?  Mine is sort of wavy & with the rain we've had this week, there is water pooled in several spots.

Lots of great ideas here. I am looking into the AC-powered water heater. If I did this, I could disconnect the propane, correct?

John, was reviewing old posts and came across yours.  We did make the modification to electrify our hot water heater this fall.  It worked out perfectly for us.  It is called:  Hot Shot Lightning Rod RV water heater kit 110 volt.  Just Google it as there are a bunch of places that sell them (including your dealer).  It isn't difficult to self install or have your dealer do it on your behalf.
