Edgar Evins State Park is located on the shores of Center Hill Lake in the steep
, hilly Eastern Highland Rim. That's how the state park website begins, but there is more. This has to be the strangest campground i have ever seen! Beautiful area, lots of good fishing on the lake however we could only stand this campground for one night. lets begin with the sites themselves. If you have ever walked out side and thought hummm, i wounder what it would be like to pull the camper up on the deck this is your place because that is essentially what you do. Once there all the hookups are on the wrong side and to the front of the sites. The fire rings are almost directly on the road to one side of the deck. now to get to those site, you have to climb large speed humps that seem to be placed every 100 feet or so all through the campground. I saw two bathhouses for the whole park. I cant say that i will be back and cant recommend. we left the next day and drove across the dam (maybe 5 miles) to the long branch rec area (corps of engineers park) which was a much better fit for us. we loved it and the old guy at the gate almost teared up on us when we drove up recollecting his early years camping in a small unit similar to ours.
