Bought our 14ft Sportsman last summer, took it out 6 times last year but managed to get 9 trips to the Lakes in and around the Boreal forest in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
Started off last year towing with a Rav4 V6, but now we pull it with a 2002 Ford Escape. Does the trick very well, and we're loving our second home.

Nice pics – thanks for sharing! Why the switch from the RAV to the Escape (just wondering)?

Loved the pictures … especially the ones with reflections. I haven't been out west yet but am looking forward to my first Western Canada/Alaska Adventure.

Thanks all for the kind welcome
I switched from the Rav to the Escape as part of a way to trim down costs as I started a new business. The dealership took the rav in trade for the escape and bought out our remaining lease, so..win win!
Out here we're on the edge of some of the most incredible Canadian scenery, and we tend to hit a variety of spots, but none more than 150 kms from home…no need to go any further as the forest North of Prince Albert has thousands of lakes/hills. Perfect for Canoeing
Narrow Hills campground has many small lakes that we love, and if you're looking for a bit more of a touristy destination, Waskesiu is a great resort spot.
My Fiance has the talent for pics, her stuff is here:

Our dog still is getting used to the canoe, but loves her life jacket…best part is the Sportsman has enough room for her to be comfortable, so when there's something moving in the forest at night, she goes in there and curls up safe and sound. I think next year we'll look at trading up to a slightly larger model, but we're not sure, its just such a great size as it is.

Taking HDR photo groups with a phone camera! I didn't know phone cams let you change exposure and all that… and how do you get good exposure groups of a scene without a tripod? More details on these nice looking photos, please!

@ Mike: The phone is an HTC Incredible S running Android. I found a free HDR App on the Market and have been using that. It's not perfect, but so far i've managed some pretty amazing stuff. It takes 3 pics and melds them together, changing the exposure automatically. Definitely worth checking out if you have Android. We have a few other cameras we use while camping, and take tripods with us, but its pretty nice to be able to hold out the phone, hit a button, and see what it comesd up with.
@kayaknut: We spent a bit more on our Dog's PDF, but it was worth it. It has the handle, and the neck support which made a lot of sense to us, since the dog wont understand it doesnt have to paddle and will do so till exhaustion. This will keep her head up. So far, she's still too chicken of the water to go too far (not much of a water dog) but the biggest thing we found was that, for some reason, the fact that she has a jacket on has calmed her greatly. Isntead of panting and panicking after 20 minutes, she seems to be content, lasting nearly 45 minutes before she really wants to get out. I think adding in the mats that you suggested might help as well, and i am definitely going to look at doing that come spring, that's a smart idea.
So far, i think this summers adventures with the Sportsman have been a bit of a surprise. We had a good time last year, but the things we've been able to see this year have been unbeleivable. I need to figure out the furnace/water heater yet, as we still havnt used them since we got it, heh.
