hello all,
I started looking for toy haulers awhile back, and found the 14FKTH. i didn't plan on buying anything till my daughter got done with college, then found a good deal and bought one. i drove from New Ulm, mn to chippewa falls, wi today and picked it up. here were my wife, 5 year old, and me, sitting in the street, 15 degrees out, heater on, checking it out. we have a pop up, but can't wait to use this next year. i have a fatboy to put in the back, but will probably just be stored in it for now till the little one gets a little older.
this looks like a great place to get started with the Sportmen experience,

make sure you reposition the tie downs..they are only screwed to floor .you will need to get them through frame or your fat boy will end up on the road

Hi Wayfat
Welcome and congrats!. I know exactly where you are as I've driven thru New Ulm lotsa times on my way to camping trips in Badlands/Deadwood. I lived in Chaska up until last year when I moved to TX. I know a lot of people will think it strange, but I do miss MN and the snow.

well, i loaded the Fatboy up and pulled the camper to my Mom's in Iowa for the winter. it went well. I plan on getting a wheel chock to fasten to the floor, hopefully with some flush bolt inserts, and put some tie downs on the chock. the tie downs that are in the camper are beside the handlebars and don't keep the bike forward. also, have been looking for a metal loft bed that i can modify and make folding legs to set up over the regular bed for our 5 year old. i have all winter to find one(been checking craigslist)but can't wait to get started. too bad i bought it just in time to store it for the winter. when i get to the mods, i will post them elsewhere on here.
thanks for the warm welcome,
wayfat

Hey Wayfat,
I have a Heritage and the 14fkth. I picked up a chock that doesnt need bolts from Keryekin. Its awsome and uses straps from the rear tie downs across the floor to hold the chock back against the front tire. went for about $70.

How far up between the fridge does the front tire go?

Im telling you guys you better make sure those tie downs are supported through to the frame otherwise no matter what you strap down to the tiedowns with a heavy load as in a Harley those bolts will pull through the floor!!! just sayin.

Jackstraw, i will check out that chock, sounds like something i would be interested in. my front tire is actually even or just forward of the fridge. i would have 10-12 inches to move it back, but the camper seemed to pull well with it there.
Also, i am going to check into getting the tie downs into the frame. i don't have the camper at my house now, but would definately feel more comfortable having it anchored to the frame.
thanks for the info guys.
