Hello to all. I'm Kevin and just bought a new 16BH. Was originally looking at the 19BH, but figured with our SUV the lighter 16 was a better bet. The wife and I's first trip will actually be out to Yellowstone in May. The only Mod that I have added so far is adding a close line in the bathroom above the tub. Before we leave I will be adding a solar panel, either to the top or just get a tripod and an arm for the television. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and I’m glad to have found it.

Welcome aboard Kevin! That 16BH is a popular unit judging by the activity around here. Got a 190 myself, but am also pulling it with a full sized pickup. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures.

I've posted several mods that I have made to my 16BH over the last year and a half that I have owned it. Mostly it's just me or me, the BF and the 2 dogs. But twice now it's gotten a real work out – me, my niece and her friend.
I took out part of the top bunk and sleep in the lower bunk – just replaced the mattress and it's so much better now
I will be interested in what you do with the solar. I just bought a 2000 watt Champion inverter generator this weekend – can't justify the money for a Honda or Yamaha and have heard good things about the Champion. I would like to be able to go out where H/U aren't necessarily available. I'm going to change out my bulbs for LEDs on the inside. And we've discussed how to add a second battery to the tongue.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! we went with the 16BH, like I said for weight. But the Wife and I are also expecting our first child. So the bunks seemed like a nice feature for camping with the kid and maybe a friend in the future. But right now having a baby along with two 80 pound dogs and staying in a tent. Just didn't seem like that much fun anymore and the whole bears and yellowstone thing. But our TV, a 2008 Vue handled the 40 mile drive home with no problems at all and only a 6 MPG drop. But I'm sure those numbers will be thrown right out the window once we get to the Rockies. Once I figure out what size solar panel we are getting and where I’m going to mount it. I'll be sure to post the pictures. It's looking like the best spot on the roof will be up by the air conditioner cover.
