Hello all, so glad I stumbled across this forum! My SO and I decided to give up on tent camping so we started searching for small campers we could tow behind our '05 Jeep Grand Cherokee. At first we were looking tat the Vymeron, but found the interior fit an finish decidedly lacking… then we saw a Sportsmen 14RB across the lot and made a beeline for it, what a nice camper!! We will have to wait until Spring (or a really good deal during the winter) to buy, but next summer we'll be out camping again…and NOT sleeping on the ground, YAY!!

Queen, welcome to our forum. You have your eye on a good one.
Note: The price you see is not always the price that you have to pay……make an offer. The big selling season is nearly at its end. Search some of the earlier threads.

Hi John. There were several options on the one we looked at, it retailed for $10,500 and was on sale for $8995, should there still be wiggle room with the price?
Thanks!

Hi, Mickie!
Agenda that might help: The 14RB is quite popular, so some research is in order to come up with the right price.
1) shop around……go to http://www.kz-rv.com (search for other dealers by zip code);
2) earlier this year, one of the most reasonable priced dealers in USA…… http://www.VacationlandRV.com of Big Rock, IL (KZ-RV is in Indiana, so shipping cost to IL should be relatively low);
3) List the various options (above the base unit), the year of manufacture and model # (14RB ?) in your next post, so myself and others might aid you in working up a reasonable amount to offer, as $9k is probably too high. I'm of the belief that there is approx. a 35%+ retail markup from the $10.5k and dealer cost is a bit lower than that.

Wow, thanks so much for all the input!!
The one we're looking at is 14RB with "Full Package Option" plus a furnace and AC. I'd love to be able to get it (or one like it) for closer to $8000 rather than $8995 + tax. It's at Fun Time Campers in Indianapolis, about two hours from home.
I'll start doing some comparison shopping and see what I can find.

Well, our situation has changed a bit. We traded in the Jeep on a Chrysler Aspen that can tow 7500lbs.
Funny thing… we still like the 14RB. We're considering renting a 19RB from a place in Michigan early next season to see if we'd like the larger size.
