hello,
i am thinking about modifying the bed in my 14fkth, but unfortunately it is in storage 3 hours away. i was wondering if someone could tell me the length of the cushions on the the beds. even though i can't work on it right now anyway, the wheels are turning in my head. can't wait to get to work on it.
any help would be appreciated
thanks,
Wayfat

Hi, Wayfat!
Check out http://www.kz-rv.com The 2011 Sportsmen Classic 16FKTH…..photo of bed in down position……looks like 80″ wide, left to right X 72″ long, front to rear. Perhaps, KZ has dropped the 2011 model 14FKTH in favor of 16FKTH, with its 16″ gain in trailer length, yet the fold-down bed size appears to have remained the same, in reviewing both floor plans and specs. Now, without consulting higher authority, just what am I missing here?

John,
Thanks for the info. I called Matt and he wasn't sure what size the cushons were. i am just going to go to the nearby dealer and measure them. I didn't want to do that cause i didn't buy it there. oh well, at least i will know for sure.
thanks again,
wayfat

If the trailer is the same width as the 16BH, I can measure my cushions and let you know. I know that mine makes a bed 54″ by 80″ and I would think the dinettes are the same if it's an 80″ wide interior.

The 54″ x 80″ bed size has been standard among the trailers through 16xx, however, the configuration of the toy haulers is different and because of this, the fold-down bed size may differ from the standard.
Thus far for 2011, there been two toy hauler models advertised on http://www.kz-rv.com for the Sport. Classic, the 14FKTH and 16FKTH. Is this an error on the part of KZ Marketing dept…….nomenclature? What should it be?

well, i went to the local dealership and measured the cushions. if anyone is interested they are 6 feet long. i forgot to measure the width.
what i am thinking about doig is cutting the bed in half so i can make 2, 3foot benches. then, i can leave one as a bed, and fold the front part up for a table, or up against the wall, out of the way for more space. of course, i would have to cut 2 of the cushions in half.
i want to build a bunk across the back for my daughter over the existing bed. i bought a bunk bed i am going to modify that can be taken apart when we don't need it.
my wife says maybe we should camp it it once, just to see what we need. not a bad idea
i will be sure and post pics when i get started.

Ahh! My older eyes are still okay. The 14FKTH / 16FKTH are undoubtably 80″ wide. The outside width is 84″, less 2(2″ walls) = 80″ pictured on kz's 2011 website, per previous post in this thread.
