Hello all…Here are the most recent mods completed on my 14RB…First is the addition of a dinette table over the couch. (Wonderful idea posted by Julie) I chose to mount the table with a slide bracket instead of the hinge system. Allows me to slide table down to make room for the dog or simply lift it up and remove it to store somewhere else. Cost approx. $150
Table Wall bracket mounted on oak
Here's the TV. It used to take up space on the counter top. I purchased a wall mount bracket but ended up mounting it under the overhead bed cabinet. I have a custom made cover and use a bed pillow to cushion it for travel. I tucked the cable and power cord under the window valance. Cost under $20.
Ready for travel!
The outdoor speakers were purchased at a marine store. Waterproof etc. Mounted to the frame and fit really nice. Sounds good too. I ran the speaker wire from inside cabinet, down wall and thru floor. Cost approx. $50
Speakers underneath Wire hiding piece
Here's an over the stove table I made for more storage when not cooking. I made this and put stickers of moose, bear and elk on the top then poured that clear epoxy stuff on it.
Thanks for looking and HAPPY camping!

Cat,
Great looking mods! I was brainstorming on TV ideas and that's a great one. I'm still stuck on the idea of a TV tray or similar to eat and work off of. My next add on is the matress topper. Silly question, but it is a full size, not a queen, right? Had not had time to measure quite yet. Thanks for sharing the ideas!

Hi Nomad, I bought a topper at Walmart during the first cross country trip in the 14RB. I was in the middle of Kansas when the dinette foam squished down to the thickness of a credit card. I think I got the queen size but had to trim a few inches off. (Large bread knife) From what I remember the queen was slightly bigger and the full size too small. Hope that helps…Cat

ArkansasNomad-
Earlier this spring the wife and I bought a fairly thin (8.75″ high) queen size air mattress from WallyWorld for less than $20, and has held up well. We just use it on top of the standard foam cushions. The coolest part iss that it fits the bed area perfectly. This is the one in case you're interested. Be advised that the other ratings on WallyWorld's website aren't that great, and the mattress doesn't come with a pump (we had a nice 12-volt already anyway), but it has worked well for us.
Happy camping!

Hi Cat, I purchased some outdoor/marine speakers, have you had any issues traveling w/ the speakers mounted to the frame like that? Do they loosen up at all from the vibration while towing?

Hi Mike, I mounted the speaker brackets with bolts thru the frame w/ S.S. hardware and used those type of nuts w/ the nylon at the end so they cannot vibrate off. Also replaced the little screws that came w/ the speakers to mount them to the bracket w/ S.S. ones, and then put a dap of silicone caulk over the ends to avoid vibrating off as well. I've used it alot since the install even been thru rain etc. and haven't had any problems. Mounting is still good and solid.

Look like some cool mods. Did you cut down your dinette table or build from scratch?

LOVE your tv modification. I use the top of the frig but wanted to move it..what kind
of extra re-inforcing did you do inside the cabinet. How bouncy is the tv? size of TV too? Any advise would sure be appreciated. Also a Fla KZ-er (Miami area) here's my baby http://www.flickr.com/photos/h…..791126879/..
also have you done any speakers inside like below the bed cabinets. My hearing is going
and don't want to blast the other campers out while I'm trying to hear the RV.

Hello Homebody,
The TV is about a 13″ and I reenforced the inside bottom of the top cabinet with a small piece of plywood cut into a triangle shape to fit in the corner and drilled the mounting holes through the whole piece. The TV is extremely sturdy and does not wobble at all. But because it is mounted on a hinge I put a pillow behind it just to keep it from possibly swinging into the wall during travel. The mount is a standard swing style arm for the wall. I just turned it vertical. I have not added any speakers for the TV.
