Interesting… Will you be folding it down for travel?

That looks awesome Julie!!! So do you plan on keeping the dinette open backed or plan on installing a small back panel? I can't make up my mind if I would do it or not, and only ask because I'd like to hear your take on it.

Where do you sit? We bought a small folding table that fits in front of the sofa. We store it under the bed when not needed.
We have 6″ memory foam on top of original cushions on the bed. We do not use the dinette and leave the bed down.
We have a Broadstone dining tent that is used for cooking and eating. Its great foe entertaining and it has full flaps for bad weather.
Getting ready to go the International Peace Gardens on the ND/MB border.
Google them for more info.

Thanks Steve!
We're going to keep the dinette open with no seat backs. There's enough room on the sofa to sit casually (a leg folded under or Indian style, to face the table), but I don't think there's enough room to add back panels + cushions. At that point I think one would have to break open the bench to build a "feet under" dinette, but even then, it may be a pretty tight squeeze. ???
Since its only meant to be a table to sit at for roadside lunch stops or when the weather, bugs, or darkness drive us indoors, we can be plenty comfy without backs.
I'm already liking the idea of having an additional work space tho; knowing the limits of our current counter space. Wooo hooo!
I see what you're saying, and would choose to do without as well. But for the sake of continuing to entertain the idea (I'm a problem solver at work and the brain just won't stop at stuff like this) you could go with a wood chair back type insert. You can still sit indian style, have a back without sacrificing space because of a cushion, and be able to remove/store it for the times you don't need it. I'm just not sure the effort would be worth it for something that's used only part time.

Pretty nice mod!
I think I know what I would like. Can anyone tell me where I might find this… I want a little table top that will attach to the end of the sofa, will swing up on an articulated arm and then a hinge will liet it flop over flat. I know I have seen something like this before somewhere. Sort of like a little desktop that flips up and over.

Hmm, yes that would be helpful also. Might be easier to find, too.

Hello Julie, I have a couple of questions about the table mod. Any idea what the table weighs? How much did it cost? And how lumpy is the cushion when it's folded down under it? Thx

Hi Julie, Thanks for all the info. Just wondering if you fold the leg under the table when you fold it down or just shorten, collaspe it so the table lays flat? And what material did you use for the wall support? Looks very nice. I'm calling KZ today. I think this is a fantastic idea. Thx, Cat
