1 4  R K (all elecrtic), with Regular Pkge. and 5K btu Air Cond.

1)  Henge's Vortex I Retrofit fan installed in bathroom…..tapped into 12 VDC ceiling light……total trailer air exchange seems to take longer than several minutes (@188 cu.ft/min.)

2)  Vizio LCD VA220E 22″ TV, mounted to cabinet-end above the refrig. via Peerless SA730P-S hinged mount…….drilled 1-1/4″ hole in bottom of that 1st cabinet to accomodate power cords to 120 VAC inside top of cabinet.

3)  Mounted Toshiba XD-E600 Up-converting DVD player, with Peerless PM47 undercabinet DVD/VCR mount (bottom of cabinet that has the drilled-hole).

4)  Replaced three ST175/80R13 China-made tires with Maxxis ST185/80R13 Thailand-made tires (including brass valve stems for the air @ 50 PSI) to increase safety margin……tires made in China have had poor reputation.

5)  Purchased small steel Thermos table-top propane gas grill for use on the picnic bench.

6)  Purchased 900 Watt/7.5 Amp Rival microwave.

7)  Plan to mount two Pop-A-Toothbrush Holders……for our pearly whites.

8)  Plan to purchase/install 12 VDC digital AM/FM car radio, with CD player and small amplifier to power Polk Audio book-shelf size speakers (mounted under the front cabinets).

John, how do you like the Vortex kit? I'm looking into that myself, just haven't pulled the trigger on it yet.

Hi, Matt

I like the Vortex I Retrofit fan kit, yet would like to control fan speed, so fan would run slower and possibly reverse direction.  The directions on the back of the box states that for "Ventline", additional instructions are found inside box……but not true.  Sportsmen Classics' use Ventline.  After some thought I figured out what I needed to do to complete the install.  The Vortex I really moves air and does not reduce too much of the skylight's light, as was a previous objection mentioned on rv.net.  See the long thread and install photos on rv.net, that you are a member, also.

Heng's catalog shows another model that has three speeds and reverse, but Heng's customer service states that that model is not yet available and will be coming out at a later date.  This 3-speed, with reverse will not be a retrofit, but a whole replacement, including the external vent lid/cap.

Matt, I'm glad to hear that your mods on your new trailer a progressing nicely.

Do you have pics of the decorative shelf over the valance?  Also, how did you mount the TP holder?  Even Krazy Glue won't hold my velcro (I'll have to scrape off all the leftover adhesive and see if it'll stick)

Please keep us updated on how you plan on making the bracket for the portable tank.

TP holder is all wood……located 2″ x 2″ stud in outside wall of bathroom, drilled very small holes as feeler-gauge to locate stud precisely (electronic stud-finder will not work with all the aluminum in the wall); mounted back board of the TP Holder with two wood screws placed vertically, in relation to stud.

We're about to mount a TV bracket in the same place that you did.  Did you have to beef up the side of the cabinet?  Just wondering if the pressboard there is strong enough to hold the TV mount.

I just got a Serta memory foam and cut it down for my bunk in the 16BH.  I haven't completely given up on the dinette still being used as such – I used it for computer work and reading while traveling in March.
