Has anyone here pulled the fridge to add insulation and/or added a baffle? I camp exclusively in south florida where there is always heat. The fridge seems to be cooling great now, I was just wondering if it had been done and if it was worth the time and effort.
Thanks

I too live in Florida, gulf side, Port Richey area. I live in my 14 RB full time and have never had any probs. with the fridge. Main thing to remember is these fridges are not like a reg. fridge ( no compressor), so don't keep door open longer then needed and don't stuff them full, room around contents is needed for proper cooling.

Are you using any type of fan inside the fridge?

No, just do not leave open longer than needed, and I don't stuff it full. I have been a full time RVer for 17 years now and learned long ago that Rv fridges are a species of their own. Sun on the side where the fridge is also makes it have to work harder.

I have added a fan on the outside for those times when the fridge side is in the sun. I guess I'll watch how much I put it in from now on. Thanks

The original instalation allowed the heat from the back, to surrond the space between the cabinet and the fridge. making it work harder, creating more heat……..
Last summer, i pulled my fridge, and insulated the sides and top, then put a defelector ( with adhisive automotave insulation attached ) from the back of the upper coils to the vent. i also added one of the little ducted fans, with a thermostat from e-trailer) between the upper coils and the lower unit, to for additional upward air flow.
I measured the temp, of the inside cabinet top and side, and it was almost 18 degrees cooler. my fridge now runs much cooler, and the fan kicks on only when its really hot outside.
