This is probably obvious but have you tried arranging the cushion backs and bottoms so the cracks line up in such a way to avoid your bottom and shoulders?

New cushions, so we didn't have exactly the same problem. Back pain though, so we added a spring foam topper (queen size) from Target. $159, but it sure made the next week of camping/sleeping go so much better.
