Has anyone replaced the bunk mattresses on the 16BH or the dinette cushions? Even with the 2 bunk mattresses stacked, it's way too soft for me to sleep on. And the boyfriend said that after a couple of hours sleeping on the dinette/bed, he "bottoms out". So we are looking to possibly change out everything and wondered if anyone has some pointers or suggestions.

We add a 2″ memory foam queen size mattress pad over the dinette cushions when sleeping. It’s temperature sensitive and contours to your body shape to help relieve pressure points. Makes a big difference. It's under $40 at walmart or there are better ones if you want to spend more. It comes in other bed sizes too or you could easily cut one down to fit the bunk bed.

go to overstock.com and they have lots of memory foam toppers real cheap. If you go with a KING you can cut it to fit both bunks or i think a queen be used to cut in half and fit bunks.

Yeah, I thought about a topper but the bunk mattresses are so soft I don't know if they will provide enough support underneath. I have one that I may try on the dinette cushions though.

This winter we will be getting a mattress for the dinette. We leave it as a bed all the time anyway. The local mattress store has them for around $200. The size is a full XL, full width & queen length.

My wife and I added 2 2″ self inflating air matresses under our cushions, they can be inflated firm and that helped alot plus they pack up and store when we need it as a table.

Thanks for the suggestion – I have a 2″ self inflatable that I can try.

I changed the matress on the front bed to a Queen sized matress, and the bunks got the Futon matress I bought from Ikea unzipped into two pieces and placed on top of the factory matresses in my 19BH. I found that I sleep better in the camper than in my bed at home for some reason, maybe because of the new matress versus the older one.
As for the dinette matress, maybe try either the air matress or the Folding Futon matress works well also, I ran the futon matress on top of the bed cushions in the sliding cabover bed in my old truck camper.
Good luck
