This is how I modified the sofa into a bed. I used 3/4″ finished plywood and got (3) 14 1/2″ legs with the threaded stud already installed. I got the table leg plates that already have the threaded insert in them to screw the legs into and mounted them to the plywood that I cut to length for the extension. I used a piano hinge to connect the (2) pieces of 3/4″ plywood together and when folded it is out of sigh and functions as normal. Hope you all like.

The original panel is partical board, so the finished plywood is a better upgrade. Mabee you don't get what the Mod was acomplishing,
