Got the 16 bh back from the dealer today. I was going to install a tank edge series monitor system but opted to let the dealer do it instead. Im glad i did it was definitley done in a more professional manner then i would have done. They mounted the panel in the kitchen above the GFCI outlet. This system uses external sensors mounted on the outside of the tank its recieved great reviews. it monitors all the tanks has an alarm to let you know when sytems are full or fresh water empty and also keeps tab on the battery voltage. Time will tell on how well it works.. I ll get a picture posted of it later for you guys.

For more info on this system go to http://www.TankEdge.com

Can I ask the cost – both of the system, and installation?  Sounds exactly like what all the units should come with in the first place (in my opinion).  Thanks!

Sounds interesting. I look forward to seeing some pictures as well. Now that I am learning more about trailers and RV's etc. I wish that KZ would have had some of these options available from the factory. Would have made life so much easier for those of us that are technically and/or mechanically challenged.

Tank monitor was about $ 260.00 at camping world and installation cost will vary by the dealer. Lets just say i looked at some other TT about my size trailer with systems in them and ive saved $ 1500.00  just by purchasing and having it installed. Now ill try some pictures

whitedvr:

The monitor installation looks neat and clean and professional. I like it.

Thanks for the pictures. Makes it so much easier to visualize.

kayaknut:

I have a flashlight … could get and 12V voltage tester I suppose … the idea of dirty (grey) water backing up into the bathtub doesn't appeal to me.

If I decide to keep the trailer I'll look at the monitor installation.

I am however toying with the idea of getting a small RV … not sure that trailering is my thing. I've been looking at the Navion 24J. Nice unit!!

On my recent trip I was pretty sure I had water slosh back up into the tub while traveling down the (bumpy) road.  I thought that was why I had some dirt in the tub, that it was left behind by the dirty water.  But I could have been wrong.

Grey water definitely backs into the tub when over full.

Havent had a chance to field test this system yet but did do some home base checks. Found that the fresh water tank doesnt fill up 100 % it has an air space at the top. So recalibrated the system to read 100% at that level and its right on the money even at 50 %  the other tanks calibrated at empty checked gray water levle and its on the mark as well. Seems like a nice system.
