I plan to install and mount under the front left hand corner cabinet a drop screen slim line system to play music, movies or watch TV with. The screen rotates and will be viewable from both the rt side of the dinette and also the couch. The dealer in Wausau said they could install an additional electrical outlet inside or under the upper cabinet to provide power to the unit.

We are very interested in the entertainment package that you have purchased. Is this a product that you have purchaed from your dealer or purchased elsewhere? We are in the process of purchasing the 14 RB and will get this after purchase.
Thanks.

I would welcome comment regarding:
Coby KTFDVD1093 This is a 9.5 screen, has dvd,fm,am,cd and tv. It is designed to fold up under cabinets. Commets?

I actually have not purchased this system yet, but got one and installed it in my teardrop trailer and I believe it is a Coby, just not sure of the model. It has worked great and has a very clear screen and good sound too. These types of units can be found so easily at many places. I believe the one I presently have was from Target for about $137 So the plan will be another similar one, not from the dealer. They will only assist in making sure I have a power source close by to where I mount it.

what do you think of the 14RB? I looked today and I'm pretty positive it will meet my needs. My only concern is the occasional time I may invite a friend and the sleeping options. I wish that bench was a teensy bit wider and longer, or had an extension for sleping mode.

For those same reasons, we decided to purchase the 16 BH. It has the bunks for when we have others join us: eg: grand children or friends. The upper bunk will just be storage for us as a rule. The price we paid for it delivered and set up was $8,100.00, which we thought was more than a fair price. It was loaded with AC, Furnace, hot water, frig, gas burners, microwave, etc. When our unit arrived from the factory, it weighed 2,300 pounds. We had the dealer add:
1. Create-a-breeze ceiling fan
2. Two extra stabalizer jacks
3. Furnace Screen
4. Power Jack (we are 68 y/o and thought over the years we would appreciate this option.
5. Weight distribution and anti-sway
6. Spare Tire cover
7. Additional 15 gallon mobile waste water storage. The grey water tank is a bit small and we didn't want to move our unit when staying in state and national parks to dump our tanks.
All of these options have very little weight and we are now good to go. Also, we did tow one of these units prior to purchasing it for over 75 miles and our Jeep Cherokee with inline 6 cylinder had absolutely no problems both on the interstate and secondary roads.
Our dealer kindly has kept our unit for us till April and he has kept it inside for us. Our loyality for this dealer is secured!!
Hope this is helpful cinnamon_bluesgirl.

OOOPS pushed the button before I typed…..
CarolandJack,
I'm in Nashville, so we are neighbors! Who is ur dealer? I went to Manchester last week and looked.
So were all those add ons for the 8100 or was that the price before those items? (I'm not being nosy but I want to be able to have a good sense of pricing)
Thank you for the idea on the extra grey tank, I think I definitely would appreciate having it. Ceiling fan, too, maybe I should just say give me one like theirs! LOL
I am leaning more and more towards the 16BH. I do go to some music fests where there are no hookups and I'm considering 2 of the small inverter generators, but those can come later. The dealer said I could parallel 2 to run the air on the 14, I doubt the 16 would be much different.

We purchased our unit from Scenic Roads RV Center in Manchester, TN (Great People. Really work well with their customers) The $8100 included everything that I mentioned. We did add the create a breeze ceiling vent fan (which we had installed by the factory) Everything else came with the camper. eg; hot water heater, furnace, air conditioner, three way frig, etc. These units really come completely set up. Since you live in Nashville, talk with them. You will be very pleased with their customer service.
Regarding our jeep. I have done the following getting it ready to tow;
1. Radiator service. Flushing, cleaning, etc.
2. Electric Brakes wiring and trailer lighting wiring harness.
3. Frame hitch 5,000 # capacity
4. Transmission cooler. As large as possible. And auto tranmission service by transmission shop.
5. Fuel line cleaning service.
6. Auto gone over from head to toe by certified mechanic.
7. Weight distribution as well as anti-sway hitch.
We seem to be good to go. Be very careful in setting up your tow vehicle. Listen to your dealer and don't cut corners. It is both a safety as well as quality of life issue.
Hope this helps.

yes, thanks, I talked to Kevin at scenic roads last week, he seems to be a straight up guy. I think I'll put all this on hold til I sell my 2nd car and have the funds to make sure I have the truck outfitted properly. I want to add 2 inverter generators as I camp at festivals without power sources quite a bit. I want to go with the 16BH for sure. Thanks for helping me make up my mind!

Hi everyone…….got my little RB last month and camped for the first time a couple of weeks ago over night for a dry run. Loved it. Everything worked good. Here's the mods or things I've done. Rethought the under the shelf TV idea and went with a 15″ Toshiba flat screen TV/DVD combo I found on amazon for $179…..wow what a great, clear, excellent picture. That antenna is amazing. Pulled in 10 stations just as clear as if hooked to satellite or cable. Even pulled in Madison, WI stations which was a 2hr drive away. Fits nicely to store away in the cabinet above the dinette.
