I am taking my 14RB out for the first time and am getting the refrigerator cooled down. I am using the AC cord plugged into my house. Everything is working fine, but I noticed that the breaker/fuse box is very warm and I haven't noticed the small fan running. Is this normal? Should the fan be running all the time?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Buzz: Not sure how warm the breaker/fuse box is suppose to get. Can't say that I ever checked. But I do know that the fan doesn't run all the time. Just after I got the trailer I heard a strange "whirring" sound and tracked it down to the breaker fan. Didn't even know there was one there.
In any event … it stopped running after a few minutes. I suppose it is an automatic fan and goes off and on as needed.
I'm sure there are other techies out there that will be able to confirm.
Enjoy your trip.

I dont believe it should be running all the time no…I think it depends on the draw of current…ie too many amps running at the same time? In any event I do know electricity and warm do not go together and usually mean too much current or amps …sorta like too much water flowing thru too small of pipe…Im not sure where your plugging your power cord into your house…I know you cannot use a regular outdoor extension cord , there too small of gauge to handle it, you will need a rv ext cord rated for that application..I hope one of our electricity gurus on here will chime in When I plug my trailer in my house to cool down the fridge my fan doesnt constantly stay on…good luck.

From nj bob you should use a minimum 10 gauge extesion cord and watch the distance for voltage drop.

If you are referring to the converter/charger which also is a breaker box, the the fan is to cool the converter/charger circuit board. This is where the 110VAC is converted to 12VDC for battery charging and lighting, etc. The heat is coming from the board where there is a temp sensor that activates the fan as needed. There are fuses that protect against overloads in the 12VDC circuits.
The breakers distribute the incoming 110VAC to the various 110VAC outlets. The breakers protect against overloads in the 110VAC circuits. The breakers are not related to the fan noise.
