Well here is the damage, I will be taking it in for warrenty repair in the morning..hopefully it wont do this again after the repair. It seems like a very weak point to me, the screws are so short, not even halfway into the pressboard.I took a pic of the other side as well because its starting to crack and come apart..If they send me another table it better match my countertop.

WOW ! That's not good Kim.
I've wondered about that in my 14RB as well. I just checked them and they seem fine. However with the stress of dropping the table down to the bed position I can see this as a weak design. Thanks for keeping us up to speed on this.

We had this exact problem after taking the table down 2 or 3 times. I took the hinges off the wall & keep it down all the time now. If you get a replacement, I would like to know about it — I'd like to replace ours for when we sell.
I agree with you on the design flaw, I cannot believe how flimsy the hinges are.

That doesn't look good! We had a bit of a hard time getting the table down for the first time last night so I can see how too much force can break it. We actually considered just leaving it as a bed all the time.

Well I thought about leaving it down as a bed but I really do like to sit at the table and eat dinner plus when we are leaned back watching tv its handy to set drinks on and such. Im seriously considering modifying the screws that go into the table when I get the new table back. I might replace the screws with bolts…I will have to look at it again when I pick it up from the rv dealer. I wasnt overly aggressive with the table at all, lowering and raising it..its just a poor design esp with tiny screws into pressboard, they should have reinforced the area somehow.

I've seen that too many times before. I solved it in my last pop up by replaceing the table with a piece of plywood with the laminate to match the interior glued to the top and a strip of plastic trim around the edges.
I looked at the one in my 19BH, but mine doesn't have hinges, mine has a center post that wobbles a bit (loose fit in the floor to the table leg pipe)
I'm thinking of doing what Coyote RV does in some of their campers, taking and replacing the pressboard tabletop with an oak framed plywood top that has an old map polyurithaned into the table top. This way I can plan my trips and eat breakfast at the same time
Let us know how you make out on the table top.

From Truck Camper Magazine's site and article about Coyote RV Truck Campers.
This one was totally cool.

I'll take a look at my 14RK table / hinge setup tomorrow, to see how I might beef it up before it breaks, also. Thanks for the heads-up. I'll let you know how I make the "FIX".

As I recently stated elsewhere, I used two small carriage bolts / nyloc nuts per side as my fix for this obvious weakness. I also stated, yet have not done so, plan to install angle-iron up the middle, the entire length of table. The table is beginning to take a set (curvature / bowing / sagging).

Resurrecting this thread – I had the same thing happen on the MDF table I made to replace my OEM table – the MDF table was a few inches shorter to facilitate getting in and out of the back bench. So I've now built one out of 3/4″ plywood and painted it gray so that it coordinates with the countertop. Those pressed board/MDF tables just take too short of a screw.
I will let y'all know how the plywood works after a few more camping trips.

I have a brand new 18RBT. We had the same problem with the table hinge. I am disappointed that this has been a problem for 4 years and not been addressed by KZ. I think I may try the carriage bolt fix. My first try is to use Durham's Rock Hard Water putty to fill in the hold and then use the same drawers. But not very confident

Just another 1 of KZ's poorly thought out applications.
