Howdy folks! Well I have two camping trips this spring under my belt already. First was a coleman collectors campout near the TN and NC border. Had a great time and good weather. Got to display some of my coleman lanterns and stove I collect and repair along with other collectors.

Second campout was with my local camping club here in the east TN region's spring campout. We camped at the local to me panther creek state park. Again weather was nice. I did experience one problem during the campout. The park just went thru  a renovation to some of its campsites and bathrooms. I neglected to put on my water pressure reducer when I hooked up to their ON/OFF water spigot and when I turned on the faucet inside the trailer it was way over pressurized so I ran outside and dissconected the hose and put on my pressure reducer. However I noticed water on my trailer floor but couldnt trace it to a pipe…wiped up the water, and tested the pressure in my faucet, which was hardly NONE. Did not see any more leakage on the floor but will try and hook up to my hose at home and test my pipes for leaks. Two other campers at the campout also had water problems (leaks) guessing they didnt use pressure reducers also…I sure hope these leaks were a fluke and I dont have a repair in the future.

I also noticed when I parked the trailer at the campground that heat was really intense at my hubs…I happened to reach down near the tire and felt the heat…the axel hub was too hot to touch..so I guess that means a wheel bearing repack, since I have not done that since I bought the trailer new in 2010. I will be calling the local rv place to set an appt . Not sure what a single axel wheel bearing service will cost. So just a reminder for you folks to always put on your pressure reducers on your hose and service your wheel bearings!!! Everyone enjoy your camping and lets keep this forum alive with text and pictures of our adventures!

Thanks for the reminders, Teaspoon.  I've done the wheel bearing repack once on my own, and it wasn't too difficult.  I don't consider myself a mechanic by any means, but there are several youtube videos that explain the process.  Other than a little time, and something like $10 for replacement races (there wasn't a need to replace the bearings), it's doable if you're up to it.

Thanks, I did figure out it was my elect brake dragging causing the heat…I adjusted them and no more problems. I should repack my bearings though and do it myself like you suggested since the local rv place wanted an arm, leg and my retirement savings to repack them..Youtube is an excellent source for saving money Thanks!!!
