Want to add a hor rod  element to water heater.  has any one done this?  if so now hard was it and where did you tie  the elect. in ?

click here http://www.rvupgradestore.com/…..ottrod.pdf these are the instructions for one of the kits. they look pretty involved but do-able. it looks like you replace the anode with the element, which seems strange. then you would cut a square out of the styrafoam insulation to mount the thermistor, drill holes in the casing for the wires to exit, mount a control box some where inside and plug the device into one of the precious few outlets.  Naw, i will pass.
