I have a Sportsmen Classic 16BH. I got on a ladder the other day and noticed the roof top was NOT flat. It was rather very wavy / bumpy.
From all the RV's I've owned, the roof top (the metal) was always flat.
I suppose this may be a warranty issue? (mine is a 2011)

The wavy roof is normal. We have the same thing on our 2010 14RK.

Mine is a lil wavy, but it's never leaked despite that. It's been rained on pretty heavily which is the norm for south texas.

Mine is wavy for sure … holds lots of water on top when it rains… and recently has started to leak. Getting repaired now, but all units should be the same. can't believe all the water is up there when it rains.

My roof was a disappointment to me when I saw it. (The dealer had told me it was rubber!) Mine is an aluminum skin that doesn't lay all that flat, (one might say wavy). There are large amounts of caulking to seal things off. (This caulking ends up washing down the sides of the camper and then holding aluminum oxidation and leaving gummy, black streaks on the camper sides. Not attractive! Also very hard to remove. Despite waxing the camper they soon re-appear.) I am not pleased with this product design.

The black streaks are quite annoying. All I can say is that I haven't had any leaks from my wavy roof (yet). For what it's worth, I have found a fairly decent way to get the black streaks off, though. Try looking at a local dollar store for LA's Totally Awesome cleaner. I had my doubts after it was suggested to me, but even diluted, the stuff actually does work awesome! I think it works even better than Thetford's Black Streak Remover and is quite a bit cheaper.
Happy camping!

Ditto on the awsome. in our area a store called dollar tree carries it. not sure how prolific that chain is, but they are all over down here. the black streaks will come right off and your little gem will shine once more.

I am a new owner, and I am not impressed with the roof on mine either. It is very wavey and water pools in a few spots, of course, right where there is a caulked antenna that enters the inside.
Do you think the dealer would do anything about it, or is it live with it, maintain it, and hope for the best?
We are liking the trailer, but the roof has me concerned.
Love this forum by the way!!!
