It's my belief that the 7-foot rear bumper is to hold the drain hose for black/gray water. My dealer supplied us with a 3-foot hose and connector. I can picture it now…..after arriving at the campground I'll find that the hose has jiggled its way to the center of the bumper……potentially two feet from either end. I suppose that I could drill and bolt (using stainless steel) to act as a stop for the shorter hose. How are others dealing with the shorter hose in the 7-foot storage bumper?
Also, Mods: Cut and Gorilla-glued 1/8″ wire cloth (screen) to inside rear bumper end-caps to keep the mud daupers, bees and wasps from inviting themselves into the bumper.

Excellent Mod idea there John, I will do that screen trick to mine today as well. I havent measured my drain hose that the dealer gave me but I did notice that it had the connector on one end that connects to the trailer valve but nothing on the other end. After researching I found out I need to buy an elbow for the bare end of my hose and a screw on adapter for thethe dump station opening.Another thing I was told about was a "flush king" that is used to clean out both grey and black tanks. Have you had any experience with it? I guess they run about 40 dollars or so at campingworld. I might go to walmart today to see if they have a hose with the adapters attached I will need for the dump station. So far I have placed my slinky sewer pipe in a plastic storage box along with rubber gloves, and small bottle of clorox.I know the bumper is supposed to carry the hose however I dont think I want to put a damp hose in there because of rust issues, that is why I chose to use a rubbermaid type box that seals up tight and I can store in the side storage area. Ive seen the pvc sewer pipe holders others have rigged up which seem to be a good idea too.

Thanks, Kim. I'll check out the Flush King, also. Today, I purchased a Camco 10-foot slinky sewer hose with both end fittings from WallyWorld……a little more than $18 + tax. My original 10-foot slinky came with only one end, too. Now, to get a 4″ sleeve and clamps…..then I'll have a total of 20 feet max.

Thats exactly what I did John, got the wallyworld 18 dollar kit. I figured like you I could add the one the dealer gave me with a connector if I ever need 20 feet.Wallyworld also had the revolution kit with twenty feet 10 and 10 with a connector but it had swivel ends , but noticed the ends of the hoses did not use clamps at the connectors I guess because of the swivel action. What ive read so far on sewer hoses if you dont want to look like robin williams in that rv movie you better get hoses with clamps, so I passed on that kit with swivel ends. I also purchased two nice worm clamps for rv hoses at wallyworld, I will use to add the extra ten feet or use if the clamps that came with the 18 dollar kit doesnt work. Wallyworld did not have the connector for connecting two bare ends so I will get one at camperworld I guess. I also read that putting your sewer hose in bumpers causes wear on the hose and causes leaks. I suppose I can use that bumper to store a flagpole or some such thing instead.

Hi, Kim
Went to your17-photo grouping at Flickr, noticing that you must have a factory installed shower surround (based on the vertical rear wall of your bathroom). Your 14RK has different color flooring than ours mfg. last fall….also, yours has added a 120 VAC outlet on ceiling next to Air Cond. Our table/counter edging is gray, while yours is black. I guess that I like both combos.

I located an EZ Coupler…..red color twist on hose fitting by Valterra (no clamping required) http://www.valterra.com ……now have two 10-foot hoses joined in the middle. Also purchased a tappered expanding sewer slinky hose support, "Camco Side Winder", good for out to 15 feet…..THIS I DO NOT RECOMMEND, AS VERY DIFFICULT TO SET UP FOR SLINKY HOSE. I purchased a 39-quart low storage Stearlite tub, with clamping cover for storage of the new 20-foot slinky sewer hose, with attachments. Plan to store in basement outside storage locker John

John, glad you liked the pictures. My shower does not have a surround, its just wallboard, which I will have to waterproof in some manner.Im sorta waiting on Matt's pics to see how he did his.
I havent gotten a slinky supporter yet since my plans of camping havent involved a sewer hook up just dumping at the dump station so I havent needed one yet.It would be nice to camp in a RV park and not worry about if the black tank is filling up too fast, thats what I discovered when I went camping, it was full by sunday morning (two people using it) and I think my roomate who went with me was using way too much water when she flushed (or so she said later).

Kim, you might consider "concrete board (cement board)" and / or "Green board" that is usually available at both Menard's and Home Depot…..both items are waterproof wallboards for use behind shower surrounds.
Another product to consider is Happy Bowl liners http://www.happybowl.com , could reduce volume of water required to adequately flush TT toilet…..discussed on page 24 of June-July, 2010 issue of Good Sam Club Highways Magazine. John
