I bought my 14RB new in Jan of 2011. So far the converter has gone south and now the water heater has a pin hole in it. I took it out and took it to see if it could be welded, it was rusted so thin from the inside out that they could not even repair it. I live in my RB full time and am begining to second guess my purchase.

Sorry to hear about the problems. I'm curious if you converted you water heater to electric? If so I've always wondered if you lose the rust protection that the anode provides?

Yes I did install a Hot Stick in the water heater. It took the place of the anode rod. That's food for thought!! It always worked well though, never ran out of hot water, even with long showers. But I'm sure that without the anode rod it did not help with the rust problem. I have also had a RV water softner since the RB was new. I have made many Mods to the Rv, to include turning the couch into a fold out bed, and I installed Alum. wheels to replace the white spoke cheapies.

I bet the anode rod loss is the problem on your hot water heater. After all, the anode rod's job is sacrificial to protect the hot water heater due to dissimilar metals in the construction.
As to the converter, mine ended up being the fuse even though it looked good. Replaced it and no more problems.

I agree on the water heater. As for the converter, my circuit board was fried.
