i seem to have lost one in LA (lower arizonia) and am having a hard time finding a replacement.  they just snap on (no screws) and evidently snap off on the road under certain conditions. I drug a little (sue says alot) coming out of a little gas station below the lost dutchman state park, and it was not there when we got to Catalinia state park.  anyway, i have not called kz but have done some internet searches coming up with nothing. they are made by optronics but seem to be either and exclusive kz part or a discontinued part.  anyone else lost one, or have a source for these?  i have been looking at led sets as an alternate just in case.

I lost one of mine as well.  I searched for a replacement lens and concluded it was a discontinued model so I gave up and ordered two new ones of about the same size.  They are cheap and easy to replace but make sure you order one with the license plate bracket if needed.

I don't recall the exact model but it may have been this one:

Thanks Doug for the reply.  The dealer told me  when we bought the trailer that the way kz keeps the cost down was using leftovers from their other builds. I thought he was talking interior fabrics, but maybe it went a little further.  I cant complain too much, we have put  about 6000 miles on the trailer now (1 year, March) with very little trouble. ( squeaky suspension and a bad fridge thermostat)  I am thinking that i will go with an LED replacement set.  Sue is concerned that it might alter the retro look, but i sort of already done that when i put 30  airtabs on the back.Laugh

I actually caulked the tops of my brake light lenses to the trailer because of water getting in the lens and causing problems with the actual bulb contact due to oxidation and rust.  I hope that helps me from losing one.

probably a good idea. i took the other one off for a reference and there was water in it. there is no seal and only two  plastic tabs hold it in place.  sort of designed for failure i think.Confused

well all i could find was a newer style in the optronics book they appear to have the same deminsions but the lens will only fit on its own base so you have to buy the whole assembly. Sorry i didnt find anything. You may try camping world I know they sell the petersen line of lights which may have it.

thanks jon for looking,  it looks like a lost cause.  northern tool has several options, most have the same snap in type lens like the one that fell off.  they have a couple that are the same size as my oem that are made for boat trailers (submersible) and i guess that is the way i will go. one is led, and the other conventional bulb at half the price.  although the led version is cool, i am not sure what kind if any problems these will have down the road so i guess i will buy the incandescent ones.  with these, several screws have to come out before you loose them.Wink

A few months ago there was an article (in Trailer Life, I think?) that looked at LED replacements fixtures.  One of their concerns was that the LED replacements were generally much less bright than their incandescent counterparts.  This could be especially important when looking for tail light replacements.  Just a thought…

I recently checked out my lens covers on the rear trailer and discovered they were just hanging on and not secured at all.  I can't believe they haven't come off yet?  They wouldn't pop on and secure at all.  Really bad design and quality ( brand new trailer?)  I ended up filing down the side holes on the lens cover to fit the clips better so they would pop through and secure which seems to help. I may also put some caulking around the perimeter as mentioned in another post.  I'm glad I read this post because I probably would not have checked this otherwise? Thankyou.Cool
