I've got 3 issues that I've noticed over my last 2 trips camping.

1) Rear light kept going out and the lens cap had dirt and the light fixture and bulb had signs of corrosion.  Sure enough, it rained a little yesterday morning and I noticed that there was some water in the lens cap.  I replaced the bulb and used bulb grease, but why am I getting moisture in the lens cap?  The cap is meant to come off, has ears on the 2 sides to remove it.  But I'm wondering if it should have some sort of caulk or sealant that can be cut loose when the bulb needs to be changed.  I've noticed the other lens cap has dirt in the bottom like it's also had water incursion.

This could be a safety issue since the bulb appears to have prematurely failed due to corrosion.  I noticed Friday that people kept trying to cut me off as I was switching lanes to the right – probably because my turn signal went out during my drive.

2) It looks like there's no sealant between the sink and the counter.  I made a mess last night washing dishes and noticed this morning there was water under the sink.  I'm thinking it came from water getting under the sink rim.  Again, silicone caulk should seal that, but shouldn't that have been sealed during production?

3) And the other problem that's really a biggie – my hot water heater won't stay lit.  I noticed it happen last trip, then I had to light it 3 times this weekend.  Yesterday I could sort of understand because it was really windy as a front blew through.  But the wind died down last night and I still had to re-light it this morning when I realized I had no hot water.  Any one else have issues?  The pilot light appears to be a good shape and blue when lighting it.

The sink in our 14RK does not have any silicone caulk either……another to add to the list of items to take care of.Frown

Well, it's at the dealer's waiting its turn in the repair queue.  My warranty actually expires tomorrow so we had to get in and registered with the warranty company even though they can't work on it until next week.

Those of you that are buying your trailers now are getting a 1 year warranty, but my 2010 had a 6 month warranty.

I think the hot water heater might could have waited since I imagine it has a 1 year warranty but I didn't want to take the chance.

Went to pick up my trailer yesterday and realized I still had the bike rack on the track instead of the hitch ball – oops!

Anyway here's the scoop on the repairs:

1) the lens cap on the rear of the trailer – they offered to either drill a small hole in the bottom of the lens cap to let the water drain or to seal the top of the lens cap with sealant.  Cons with both.  We've gotten quite a bit of dirt/dust buildup in the bottom of the lens cap and I worry that a drain hole would just get plugged up.  In order to change the light bulb, we would have to cut any seal loose to access the bulb.  But I think that's the way we will go.

You might want to check your light bulbs to see if you are getting corrosion on the bulb/socket.  I used the bulb grease when I changed the bulb and that seems to help, plus we will run a bead of silicone across the top of the lens cap to keep water from seeping in.

2) They ran a bead of clear silicone sealant around the edge of the sink to seal it from water intrusion.  The service manager said he didn't understand why they didn't do that anyway.  I'm sure it's just because that's one more step in the manufacturing process.  That was an easy enough fix and hopefully, will eliminate me getting water in the cabinet under the sink when doing dishes.  I do get messy sometimes.

3) Hot water heater – the service manager said they ran the hot water heater for 4 days (wonder who's propane) and didn't see an issue with the pilot going out.  So we are going to take it out again this weekend and see if we have any issues.
