Trailers typically put a lot more weight on the tires than your car does, which is why they're built with more plys in the construction and run higher air pressures. If you look at the tire, it probably says "for trailer service only" on it somewhere. Do not lower your air pressure. The consequential increased movement in the tire carcass will result in heat build up from the friction of all the parts of the tire rubbing together, and could very likely result in a blowout at the most inopportune time.
