just a quick thought. regarding the microwave the wattage that the manufacture usually quotes is the output power. the input (what you are concerned with) power requirements is probably around 1100 watts or so (continuously with a larger spike at start-up) since there are fans, controls and other parasites in the unit. not sure what the ac would run continuously however i would bet that the startup current would be extreame for a small generator. i dont have expreience with generators, however from what i have had, i belive the manufactures to be highly optomistic regarding their product, meaning 1Kw usually means around 750w in the end maybe.

Use this calculator to determine your power consumption. I agree that a 1000W generator may not be enough for the appliances in question.

From what I've read, your AC probably needs around 1600 to 1800 Watts for startup. A good quality 2K (like Honda) should handle it, but I doubt your 1K will have a chance.
