I winterized my 14RB without a hotwater bypass installed. Cost for mod $2.25

- Turned off the water pump

- Emptied the fresh water tank

- Emptied the hot water tank by taking out the hot water tank anode rod

- Disconnected the fresh water line of the hotwater tank

- Installed a 1-1/4″ plug & washer for abs P-traps onto the open line. Here is a link to what it looks like.   http://www.homehardware.ca/en/…..R-I3253188

- Dumped 1 gallon of RV antifreeze into the fresh water tank

- Then pump the antifreeze through the sink tap, toilet, shower tap and shower head.

Nice!  I'd never heard of it being done that way.  I'll admit, though, that I don't quite understand the 1-1/4″ plug part…could you expand, please?  Confused Thanks!

When you take off the fresh water line to the hotwater tank and if you were to turn on the water pump there would be water pumping out. Therefore to bypass the hotwater tank just plug the opening going to the hotwater tank. Then after the antifreeze goes through the lines just rehook the hotwater back up. This way you don`t try to fill the hotwater tank.
