Hello, I am new to the forum and new to camping. I have ordered a 14RB Spree Escape and am expecting delivery in a couple of weeks. I will be pulling the RV with my 2001 Chrysler Town and Country with a 3.8 engine. I wonder if I will need a transmission cooler for my vehicle, would anyone have an opinion on this.
I have enjoyed reading the comments left previously and look forward to participating in them
thanks
Jim

Welcome Jim … I took delivery of my E14RB about a month ago. Just getting ready to give it a shakedown cruise … so to speak. We've had nothing but rain in our area so I can attest to the fact that it is water tight anyway. LOL
As for whether you would need a transmission cooler or not … I'm sure there are others on this site that are more mechanically minded than I am that can answer with a more definitive answer.
I have the 2011 Toyota Sienna Limited. I was concerned about the transmission cooler and after a little research I was pleased to discover that it had a factory installed one on this particular model.
From what I've read in other threads I would think that it would be a good idea, especially if you plan to make any trips that will take you to mountainous areas.
Hope you enjoy the Spree Escape …. Happy and Safe Motoring!!

hi Jim, I would say that yes you need an additional transmission cooler. Being the former owner of several Dodge/Chrysler mini-vans, and knowing what I do about their automatic transmissions, the cooler you can keep it, the longer it will last.
Also make sure if you do install the cooler yourself, you use the fluid recommended by Chrysler, not what it says on the dipstick of the transmission (had that happen when they switched over from Dextron II to ATF+3 on a few of my vans in the past, chewed up a couple transmissions in no time because of wrong transmission fluid)
Good Luck
