I was getting ready to add a topic about compatibility view when I saw your post.  I signed on here a few months ago and had a heck of a time trying to post.  Went on the FB site and someone informed me of enabling compatability view.  No problems since then.  Perhaps mods may want to pin something in the announcement section for future users experiencing similar problems.
