Does anyone know if the emergency exit windows open for ventilation rather than just pop out in case of emergency?.. It would seem to me that they should , however, I'm under the impression that they don't…

In our 16, there is a crossbar at the bottom of the window. Take it out & get it perpendicular to the window. Push it until the window is all the way out & there is a small notch in the red plastic on the end of the crossbar. It will prop the window open.

Mine opens as well … just as described by mbanda above.

I wish the crossbar had a deeper indentation in it. I have a thicker mattress on the bunk and it rubs up against the crossbar. It doesn't take much for it to dislodge and the window to close

Hmmmmm! How about attaching a coil spring to the outside bottom-corner of the window, with the other end of the spring attached to the outside top of window frame or a bit above window frame. With the window open, the spring should hold it in an outward / upward position. So spring does not rub / scratch / abraid the glass or paint finish, perhaps a marshmallow of foam could be added to the spring, for when the window is closed. I think I will do this mod to mine, as the window will close when inadvertantly bumped.

I thought I also added make sure the cross-bar is securely latched before starting down the road. I was on a 2 lane road with almost no shoulder when I noticed the one over the dinette flapping in the breeze – oops! Fortunately, the window wasn't damaged and that's now on my "to check" list.

Thanks for the help. Really had to give it a smack but worked perfect after it came unstuck.
