Well I had my last campout of the season until next spring and what a campout it was. Friends of mine and I headed up to the lake for one last time. The weather was beautiful fall weather, where the day was warm but just perfect for sitting next to the fire reading a book, letting the soft fall breeze gently blow across the water making you glad a little fire was going. The campground was empty except for one or two motorhome campers, the colors were just after its peak and make you feel wrapped up in golden hues of soft copper and burnished gold. We all just sat by the fire looking out over the lake to the hills of color, cows dotted here and there, huge flocks of blackbird flying together as a black moving cloud that danced across the sky taking wonderful shapes like schools of fish. For dinner we had a big crab boil in a pot we placed on rocks in the carmpfire…we had crab, potatoes, shrimp, andouie sausage, corn on the cob all seasoned with lousianna spices. When it was done we layed newspaper on the picnic table and poured it out and ate with our fingers..you couldnt have asked for anything better. I will always have this memory of friends and nature to look back on as I look foward to next years new adventures camping in my Sportsmen.

In Alabama and Georgia they call that Low Country Boil. I call it "yummm".
Which lake is this? Sounds gorgeous.
And I plan on camping all winter – we can do that in TX.

Its cherokee Lake in Jefferson county tn, near knoxville. Its the only campground close to me that has campsites right on the waters edge. Its a small campground with elect and water but no sewer hookups, but it has a baithouse, restaurant, swimming pool, boat ramp, laundry facilities, showers, covered slips, cabins for rent and boat ramp. Its off the tourists trail and mostly used by locals. Here is the website:

We went to Kneobels Groves Amusement park for their Halloween Weekend. It was the first official campout in my 14fkth. It was awesome. Got down to the low thirties but we were toasty warm. Kneobels Groves is near Elysburg, Pa. and is a really great place to go. Link to pics:
