There have been several huge wildfires across Texas.  One firefighter lost his life when he was hit by a car as he was running for safety.  The fire over ran him.

Several state parks have either been burned or in danger of being burned.  It's really scary how dry everything is here and how fast these fires are moving.

And at the very least, almost every county in Texas is under a burn ban, so even camping at the parks not affected by the fires is still impacted with no camp fires and in many cases, not even charcoal fires.
