we are trying to plan our next trip and that song is playing in our heads.  the last full week of may we intend to set out on our longest (to date) journey with our sportsmen.  we are targeting the pan handle of Florida between ft. Walton and gulf shores, maybe even a little into mississippi.  we are looking for the unique campground on or near (across the street) from the beach.  I have stayed at ft pickens, but not since the last hurricanes so i don't know what shape its in, or that whole strip of land that we are targeting for that matter.  allot that we see in the way of campgrounds down there are just wal-mart parking lots with views, and that wont do.  where are the diamonds in the ruff?  ie. home on the beach.

I follow the blog of a fulltiming couple and they were at St. Joseph's and some other parks in the panhandle.  The Blog name is Wheelin' It but I don't have the url readily available.

thanks all! when the white squirrels of Ochlockonee State Park was mentioned, i knew that we had been there. (got pictures)  (stopped there to have lunch once and the little demon tried to take my sandwich)  we love to kayak too.  we  kayaked  the ichetucknee (which we love) and spent the day on the econfina with our boats before taking them to  saint joe inland to paddle around.  I am not really ready to put a ladder rack on my Dakota to take them with us this time (baby steps) but i will eventually.

I spent the evening reading the blog sandrmr mentioned. and i must say, its like standing on the high dive! i am so intrigued by the thought like my soul needs this, but afraid of growing old indigent if i fail! wow! here is their link
